In 2005, 17-year-old Palmer McInnis sold his prized heifer for $11,000 at the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo and donated all of the money to The Rose. In 2006, his eighth-place goat, Pancho, drew in a record $115,000 which he also donated to
The Rose.

Palmer lost his stepmother, Carla, to breast cancer in late 2005. His love for her inspired his gifts to The Rose.

The Board of The Rose was so moved by Palmer's generosity that they designated his gift as the seed money toward creating a formal Endowment for The Rose.

The Rose created the Pink Goat Society in honor of Palmer and his generosity. The Pink Goat Society will be the driving force behind this Endowment, ensuring that The Rose is here to serve women for many years to come.
